Today at our Nailsea careers fayre workshop- 2-4pm you can;
1) Put together a Will from a very well known Disney icon! Learning about all the parts that make up a legally valid Will.
2) Take part in our quiz learning about all the different words and roles used in our day to day world of Wills.
3) Learn about different roles in law, and various routes into law or paths of study having the chance to ask questions of all our team.
4) Learn and gain valuable insight into what we do in a typical day.
5) Take part in another matching up excercise once you’ve taken on some information from the team!
6) Leave the workshop with a certificate feeling like you have learned and taken some good information away and with good understanding of the opportunities within law.

Today in our Kingswood branch pop along and meet our amazing two famous Feathers McGraw very kindly on loan to us from Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal Cots for Tots ‘A Heart of Stone’ ( a penguin/ disguised as a chicken and extra disguised as an avocado!) and ‘Tickled Pink’ Feathers McGraw (penguin/chicken/flamingo!)
Pop along and join our free colouring competition where you can win Feathers McGraw merch and take away a leaflet on making a free Will under the Grand Appeal / Cots for Tots Charity scheme where you can choose leave a legacy to the charities to continue their wraparound work.

Today we continue with another one of our drop in careers events. Last week 5 students attended our Chipping Sodbury event to gain insight and experience in to law as a potential career.
This week it’s in our Thornbury branch between 2-4pm and is for all ages.
Refreshments are provided and each student attending will get a certificate and can use this on their cvs and future job applications.
We have lovingly crafted these workshops with the backing and input of all my team to give actual insight and tasks associated with our world of work so they gain real experience from the two hours including building a Will!
The feedback from last week from both students and adults was amazing so we may well do more of these in the future.
Something we picked up last week was this generation need huge support in building confidence and we’re happy to help:)

1 more sleep!!! Can’t wait for this!!

We are over the moon to announce a brand new Will scheme as part of our ‘giving back’ and saying thank you to our armed forces. 🙏

The scheme is open to all serving, active or retired armed forces personnel but is currently limited to our Westbury on Trym branch ( 14 High Street, Westbury on Trym, BS9 3DU ) where appointments will take place face to face in branch. We may be able to offer remote/ video appointments however, this will need to be discussed on a case by case basis.

For anyone with mobility issues please advise of this when you call and we may be able to offer this service as a free home visit ( out of area restrictions may apply).

Appointments can be booked from 10am tomorrow ( Thursday 22nd) by calling us on 01179592266 although we are only booking appointments in from 1st February 2026 onwards.

Please ask for Riley for when you call and advise that you are ringing for the ‘Armed Forces scheme’ where he will take some initial details and confirm your appointment.

Please note these appointments are being offered on a first come first served basis. Subject to demand we will also run a cancellation list.

The appointments are open to any age (over 18 ) but you must be new to Simpson Solicitors and not already have a will in place with us.
Married/ civil partnership and cohabiting personnel will also be able to include their partners under the scheme where a couple will count as ‘one’ of our 25 allocated appointments.

It’s taken 11 years, but we’ve actually hit 1000 followers!!
Thank you to all of you who follow us.
Wills and powers of attorney are a necessary part of adult life, but not thought of as the most exciting thing to talk about, and have to do so thanks for being on this journey with us. We appreciate all your support.
Remember we’re always here for you, your parents and grandparents.

Traditional law firms - not much fun!

Huge thank you to Right Legal Group for hosting the annual Summer festival. An amazing event , thoroughly enjoyed by the SSW team.

I want to take a minute to say thank you to my team for showing up every day.
What you don’t see is the willingness to take an appointment last minute where we know it is going to be a same day or next day turnaround within 24 hours.
These appointments are often high pressure, often tricky for all involved, sometimes sad and yet essential for the clients that need them.

We will always find and make time.

We are currently seeing unprecedented numbers of quick turnaround Wills and Powers of Attorney some for poorly people, some needing surgery imminently and some (more happily!) who are on off on a last minute break.

Many of these visits are in hospital, in care homes and where the advisors are going home to work after hours to draft the varying legal documents needed for a signing( more than you could ever imagine!).
I know last night drafting was happening until late so quick turnaround signings can take place today.
We do this because we care. You only have to meet us to know this is the case.
Each one of us at SSW is driven by looking after our clients and meeting their needs for their situation.
Passion and empathy you can’t teach.
We have it in buckets.
I’m so proud to be part of this team.
Together we make a difference.
