At Coole Bevis, the charities we support are chosen by our staff. This year, the vote was so close that we’ve decided to support not one, but two very different causes.

Before we announce the worthy winners, we’d like to share a note from Ella Pilkington, Corporate Partnerships Executive at Tree House , our last chosen charity:

“It has been a real pleasure working with you over the past two years. Coole Bevis has raised over £4,000 for Chestnut Tree House! Your support has helped us continue to provide vital care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions, as well as support for their families across Sussex and South East Hampshire. Thank you again for everything the team has done.”

Even though our fundraising activity will now be focused elsewhere, we shall continue to spread the word about the amazing work done by Chestnut Tree House and shall support the group in other ways. In fact, Zoe Reynolds, one of our Private Client solicitors, will be advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) for a Southern Hospice webinar very soon.

Welcome to Marianne Trott, who has joined Coole Bevis as a Partner in our Residential Property department.

Marianne is a highly experienced Licensed Conveyancer, known for her proactive and personable approach. Having spent the last 13 years at a respected mid Sussex firm, she has established strong relationships with local estate agents and other professionals, helping her to streamline the conveyancing process.

Marianne advises on all aspects of residential property, and keeps clients informed at every stage. Her expertise will be an asset to the Residential team, which continues to grow.

A beautiful day to celebrate a special milestone - 10 years since the merger of Coole & Haddock and Woolley Bevis Diplock LLP, back in 2016.

In the stunning surroundings of the South Downs, colleagues from all four offices came together yesterday at Tottington Manor to enjoy drinks in the sunshine, followed by a traditional afternoon tea.

With the firm’s roots dating back to the late 19th century, it was a great opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come, and to look ahead to the future.

Most importantly, it was a chance to catch up and welcome new joiners. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, topped off with a wonderful, Sussex-inspired goody bag.

Today we’re delighted to announce that Anna Davis has been promoted to Associate Solicitor.

Anna joined the firm as a Trainee in January 2022 and qualified into the Residential Leasehold team in January 2024. This promotion recognises her progression to cover more complex work and her good financial practices, delivering a great service in a timely and professional manner. Congratulations, Anna!
