MJR Solicitors recently had the privilege of supporting an officer who successfully defended gross misconduct proceedings arising from a deeply tragic fatal road traffic incident involving an unmarked police vehicle.
From the very outset, long before the matter reached the gross misconduct stage, our solicitor Mark Riley provided steady, strategic guidance and exceptional care, ensuring the officer was supported at every step of what became a complex and highly sensitive process.
The case engaged difficult issues surrounding memory, trauma, and the intricacies of the Post Incident Procedure framework. The panel heard detailed submissions alongside expert evidence and ultimately found in favour of the officer. This week, all allegations were dismissed in full, with no findings of misconduct or gross misconduct.
