When someone dies, families need more than a process. They need people who care.

Laurelo was created from a personal understanding of just how difficult probate can feel, and how much kinder the experience should be.

As an independent, family-run team with decades of combined experience, our mission is to change the way probate feels.

From transparent costs to home visits, we are here to guide families through each stage with care that goes beyond legal paperwork.

Probate can feel like a complicated process, especially during an already difficult time.

Whether someone leaves a Will or not, Probate gives the right people the legal authority to deal with their estate. If there is a Will, this usually falls to the Executors. If there is no Will, Administrators are appointed instead.

Having a valid Will in place can make a significant difference, helping to clearly set out wishes around funeral plans, guardianship for children, and how property and assets should be distributed.

We’re here to talk it through, answer questions, and help you figure out what actually needs doing (and what doesn’t).

Probate is something most people never really think about until they suddenly have to deal with it themselves.

For many families, knowing what to do after a death can feel overwhelming. From registering things correctly to understanding what steps need to be taken, it’s easy to feel completely lost without the right guidance and support.

We believe there should be more open conversations and education around death, probate, and estate planning, because these are things every family will face at some point.

Have you found a Will but aren’t sure whether it’s the original?

This is a situation that many families face after losing a loved one, and knowing the difference can be very important when applying for Probate.

There are a few simple things that can help you identify whether a Will is likely to be the original document or a copy, we explain some examples to look out for on our blog > https://laurelo.co.uk/how-to-spot-an-original-will/

If you’re ever unsure, try not to alter or unstaple the document before seeking advice, as this can sometimes create further questions during the Probate process.

We understand how overwhelming these situations can feel, especially during bereavement, but we are here to provide clear, compassionate guidance when you need it most.

Life changes quickly. Families grow, circumstances shift, and what felt right a few years ago might not reflect your wishes today.

That’s why it’s so important to revisit your Will and estate planning from time to time. An outdated plan can leave loved ones dealing with unnecessary stress, confusion, and delays at what is already a difficult time.

Keeping things up to date helps make sure your wishes are clear and the right support is in place for the people who matter most to you.

If it’s been a while since you reviewed your arrangements, it might be worth having that conversation now.

We are proud to partner with SAIF to introduce SAIF Probate – a dedicated probate and estate administration support service for SAIF members and the families they care for.

Built around compassion, clarity, and personal support, the partnership helps independent funeral directors extend care beyond the funeral by providing families with trusted guidance during what can often feel like an overwhelming time.

Delivered by Laurelo, SAIF Probate offers transparent fixed-fee services, dedicated case managers, and clear, jargon-free support every step of the way, reflecting the same values that underpin independent funeral directing.

Together, SAIF and Laurelo are helping ensure families receive practical and compassionate support when they need it most.

We know that during difficult times, it’s the personal touch that matters most. 💙

“Excellent service. Clare came to visit us at home and explained everything fully at a very difficult time. Clare kept in touch throughout and once probate was granted offered further support stating we could get in touch at any time. The personal touch made all the difference and I would recommend her fully to anyone.”

Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re incredibly proud of the care and compassion Clare shows to the families she supports every day. Making people feel looked after, informed, and supported throughout the probate process is exactly what Laurelo is all about.

We’re looking forward to attending the NFE, (National Funeral Exhibition) in just a few weeks to catch up with our peers from across the funeral profession.

We know only too well how important trusted partnerships are in helping families feel supported beyond the funeral itself.

This year we’re especially looking forward to conversations around:
• family expectations and communication
• aftercare support
• extending the level of care FD's offer families
• protecting the reputation and trust funeral directors work so hard to build

If you’re attending NFE, come say hello to Team Laurelo, we’d love to see you.
