Still reflecting on a fantastic week at the Lexus Birmingham Open. 🎾

The weather didn't always cooperate, but we still managed to enjoy a huge amount of tennis and some brilliant matches throughout the tournament. It was great to see Edgbaston Priory Club buzzing with activity and tennis fans making the most of an event of this calibre right here in Birmingham.

Having world-class tennis on our doorstep is something we shouldn't take for granted, and the atmosphere across the week was a reminder of what a fantastic sporting city Birmingham is.

Congratulations to The Edgbaston Priory Club and LTA - Tennis For Britain for delivering another excellent tournament. Already looking forward to next year.

For many SMEs, using AI for legal advice feels commercially sensible.

Costs are rising, and teams are under pressure to move faster while spending less. So if AI can generate answers in seconds, the appeal is obvious.

From a disputes perspective, however, we’re already seeing where that approach creates problems; from key details being overlooked to contracts drafted without proper context.

Technology has its place. But where commercial risk is involved, speed should never replace strategy.

A sole director can now legally conspire with their own company.

That was the High Court’s conclusion in Lux Films Ltd v Fowler, a significant decision for directors, shareholders, and owner-managed businesses.

The judgment confirms that a sole director and the company they control may both face liability in an unlawful means conspiracy claim, particularly where business opportunities, clients, or confidential information have been diverted.
