We have recently carried out redecoration work at The Newbiggin Learning Hive as part of our Social Value commitment to our client Bernicia Group.

The Hive is a popular community hub used by many locals, operated by Bernicia in partnership with the Northern Learning Trust as part of Bernicia's employability and social value initiatives, offering:

🔹Social and financial inclusion and support
🔹Education and employment support
🔹Community events and drop-ins
🔹A volunteer-tended sensory garden

It is one of three estate-based facilities operated by Bernicia bringing communities together - Trident also redecorated The Bedlington Learning Hive in 2023.

We were only too pleased to lend our support in improving this important community space, playing our part in building a stronger local community.

Congratulations to our Trainee Quantity Surveyor, Luke Hetherington on passing his CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test for Managers and Professionals (MAP test) and qualifying for a Black CSCS Card.

The test requires extensive site knowledge on a variety of subjects that some long-term managers struggle to pass, with a high pass mark of 90%.

The exam covers 16 core safety topics plus five manager-specific areas - including CDM 2015 regulations, leadership, environmental management, mental health on site, and high-risk activity oversight.

A huge well done, Luke! 👏

We are currently delivering a programme of internal and external decorations to Group's Home Ownership properties. 🏘️

Our Northwest team have recently completed works at retirement housing complex Brookfield Court in Manchester, and residents have reached out to us to let us know how impressed they are both with our team and the quality of the works carried out.

The scope of works included:
• Internal decoration to all communal areas
• External decoration to communal areas, windows and doors, perimeter fencing, railings and car parking bays
• Associated prior to paint repairs

It is truly rewarding being able to improve residents' homes and seeing the direct, positive impact it has on their daily lives and wellbeing.

Our Southern team have been working on Hampshire County Council's school decoration programme this summer, and were delighted to receive this wonderful feedback from the Headteacher at St Matthew's CE Primary following completion of our painting and repairs works at the school.

We have completed 12 other schools for Hampshire County Council this summer ready for the students to return at the start of the September, all with similar feedback. 👏

We recently supported the Warkworth Harbour Commissioners with the redecoration of The Beacon at Amble Harbour through the donation of paint and supplies.

Dating back to 1848, the iconic navigation beacon has a rich history and is one of the most recognisable and photographed landmarks on the Northumberland coast. It remains a beloved symbol of Amble today, loved by local residents and visitors alike.

We provided professional advice to the Commissioners on the best paint systems to use suitable for the structure and the environmental conditions, with the lighthouse being exposed to inclement weather all year round, enabling longevity of finish and preserving it for many years to come.

We recently carried out the preparation and redecoration of some metal staircases at Walker Park for Newcastle City Council, as part of our four-year Cyclical Redecoration Programme.

We were pleased to receive positive feedback from the Council's Technical Surveyor following completion of the works, who commented on how the colour and finish of the bespoke project makes a vibrant difference to the estate.

We look forward to delivering further decoration projects for Newcastle City Council, helping to make a positive difference to the local communities.

During delivery of our decoration programme for Durham Aged Mineworkers' Homes Association, they asked us if we could help redecorate a reading room at retirement housing complex, Stargate Lane.

We were delighted to be able to help and give the room some much needed TLC. We added some shelving in the corner of the room for games and books to be stored, and boxed in the pipework above the sink for a neat and tidy finish. The room was then fully repainted by our 2nd year apprentice, Shayne Battista.

The room is now a usable community space that the residents can enjoy and socialise in.

We were delighted when a Durham Aged Mineworkers' Homes Association resident reached out to us recently to share her positive feedback regarding the decoration works we are currently delivering at Holberry Terrace - an age-exclusive housing development consisting of 12 bungalows.

Happy residents are important to Trident and we're proud to play our part in improving their homes and delivering positive outcomes.

We recently received positive feedback from the Gateshead Council Site Manager, who shared positive comments from tenants residing in the properties delivered as part of our recent contract.

The project works involved the application of flame retardant coatings to communal areas across the Gateshead Borough, helping to create a safe means of escape for all of the residents living in the properties.

Positive feedback from residents is always rewarding and reflects the dedication of our operational teams who work collaboratively to deliver solutions that make a real difference to local communities.

We look forward to continuing to work closely with Gateshead Council to successfully complete the remaining phases of the project.
