🦉 A Spooktacular Animal Encounter at Great Bradfords House! 🎃

Residents at Great Bradfords House, part of Abbeyfield Braintree, Bocking & Felsted Society, enjoyed a rather unusual Halloween treat last week!

A huge thank you to All Things Alpaca for bringing along some fascinating visitors, including a white-faced owl, a skunk, mice, a red-kneed tarantula and even a giant snail! 🕷️

Some of our brave residents even had the chance to hold these incredible creatures, making for a truly memorable experience!

32 hours per week across four days
Every other weekend off

⚽ Keeping active and making memories at Abbeyfield House! 🎶

Residents at Abbeyfield House, part of Abbeyfield Northumbria Society, enjoyed a wonderful day filled with movement, music and plenty of smiles!

The morning began with a visit from the walking football group, who led residents through a variety of seated exercises and target games designed to encourage movement, hand-eye coordination and concentration.

Music and memory activities were also incorporated into the session, allowing residents to exercise their minds as well as their bodies.

In the afternoon, residents were treated to some fantastic accordion music from Robert Whitehead, with many singing along and reminiscing about their younger days spent dancing! 💚

It's lovely to see activities that bring together physical wellbeing, mental stimulation and shared memories, all while having fun and enjoying each other's company.

💚 A little kindness goes a long way! ☕

The thoughtful team at Downing House, part of Abbeyfield Living Society, have been spreading a little joy by putting together some wonderful care packages for their local hospital teams!

Filled with biscuits, hot drinks and tasty treats, the boxes are a small gesture of appreciation for the dedicated healthcare professionals they work alongside.

Each package also includes Downing House's special 'MONDAY' reminder, reinforcing the message that everyone matters and that making a positive difference is something we can do every day of the week.

It's a lovely example of the kindness, appreciation and community spirit that sit at the heart of Abbeyfield.

A big well done to everyone at Downing House for such a thoughtful initiative! 🍪

🎶 Music, puzzles and a special little visitor at The Octagon! 🐈‍⬛

Residents at The Octagon, part of Abbeyfield Basildon Society, enjoyed a lovely afternoon of live entertainment last week, thanks to a visit from Andy!

There was plenty of music to enjoy, and it seems the entertainment attracted an unexpected guest too!

Their furry little friend popped in to listen to the music before settling down with some of the ladies as they enjoyed working on a puzzle together. 🧩

It's these simple, joyful moments that make life at Abbeyfield so special, bringing people together through music, companionship and shared activities.

A big thank you to Andy for providing such a lovely afternoon of entertainment!

🎃 Little visitors, big smiles at Abbeyfield House!

Residents at Abbeyfield House, part of Abbeyfield Clitheroe Society, enjoyed a wonderful morning when children from Bambino's Boutique Nursery came along for a special visit! 💛

The morning was filled with singing, laughter and plenty of Halloween creativity as the children decorated colourful spooky shapes, shared nursery rhymes and enjoyed some biscuits with residents.

It's always heartwarming to see different generations coming together, sharing experiences and creating happy memories. Visits like these bring so much joy to Abbeyfield communities and help strengthen connections with local families.

A huge thank you to Bambino's Boutique Nursery for bringing so many smiles to Abbeyfield House. We hope to see you again soon! 🎨

Abbeyfield House, part of Abbeyfield Knutsford Society, has undergone a lovely transformation, including a makeover for the guest room!

The refreshed space is now ready to welcome residents' family and friends when they come to stay, helping loved ones enjoy more quality time together. 💜

The room will also be available for prospective residents on a trial stay, so they can experience life at Abbeyfield before deciding.

A special thank you to staff members Dean and Carol for all their hard work in bringing this welcoming space to life! 👏

It's thoughtful touches like these that help make an Abbeyfield house feel like home.
