Is it too late to claim ?

If you have been injured in an accident which was not your fault, you will usually have 3 years to claim. That 3 year period runs from the date when you knew that the injury was caused by someone else. Be aware though that in some circumstances, a shorter limitation time period applies!
For example a 2 year period may apply to a boat accident. Don’t take any chances, get legal advice early.

‘To many people the Green Book is the name of a movie. But it is also the common name given to the guidance for personal injury damages to be awarded, in this jurisdiction. It is currently under review. For people who have sustained injuries in accidents which were not their fault, this is a very important document. You will constantly hear, in the media, about how the cost of insurance is rising. Quite often insurers want to blame the awards made for personal injury. You will rarely hear about the costs of courtesy cars or insurance company shareholder payouts. It is therefore important that the rights of injured people are defended and part of that defence is having a guideline for compensation.
In my years of practice, seeking compensation for injured clients, I have heard occasional comments from insurers saying that they simply ignore the Green Book. The good news for accident victims is that the courts are obliged to follow the Green Book guidance. My job is to ensure that injured people recover what they are entitled to receive. The Green Book helps to do that.’
