Capture every receipt digitally the moment you get it.

Instead of stuffing paper receipts into your wallet or a drawer, take a photo immediately using your phone or a receipt-scanning app. Then give each file a consistent name.

If you also sort receipts into folders by month or expense category (e.g. Travel, Meals, Office Supplies), you'll make bookkeeping, VAT returns, and tax preparation much faster.

The key is consistency. Processing receipts in real time takes seconds, while sorting months' worth later can take hours.
