A star is born … At last week's meeting Richard Lilleker of Gwynne Dental won the best 60 second presentation award for his memorable demo of how he distracts younger patients in his dentist's chair and also received a glowing testimonial of his dentistry from Mike Jones of MJ Accounting. Note Richard only does childrens' parties if they also include a dental check up ...

Many homeowners do not have a will in place and large numbers have not updated the document to include the purchase of a property according to Royal London which has been looking into people’s attitudes towards passing on their assets.
It found 44% of homeowners did not have a will, with many of these people admitting they had not created one because they had nothing valuable to pass on. Yet, one sixth of those people also owned a property. It found 16% of over 55s didn’t have a will despite owning a home either outright or with a mortgage. For these homeowners, not having a will in place would mean they were putting their homes at greater risk of going to the wrong person if they were to die, warned Royal London.
Mona Patel, the consumer spokesperson at Royal London, said: “It’s surprising that some people don’t think their home is worth including in their will.
“Writing a will seems to be seen as an admin task that never makes it to the top of the ‘to do’ list. It’s worth making it a priority as having a will in place could help avoid any unnecessary distress at an already difficult time for loved ones.”

Deciding who to appoint as an executor – the person who sorts out the estate and carries out your wishes after your death – appeared to be a stumbling block for many who were reluctant to make a will. Many also admitted they found it hard to decide who would benefit from the will.
And Royal London also discovered many people were also not updating wills to account for important changes. Around four in ten of those who have made a will and subsequently purchased a property have not altered the document to take into account this asset.
