The cheapest retention tool in existence is also the most neglected.

Saying thank you. Properly, specifically, and at the time.

Not an annual awards night. Not a generic "good job team" in the group chat. But "the way you handled that difficult customer on Tuesday was brilliant, and here's why it mattered."

People don't leave jobs where they feel seen. It sounds too simple to be true, which is probably why so many businesses skip it in favour of complicated perks nobody asked for.
