We’re pleased to share one of our latest lettings success stories at 20 Waveney Drive.

After advising the landlord on a few simple improvements to help the property look its best, we brought it to market and saw a great response. Multiple applications were received and an offer was accepted within just 7 days of going live.

One of the latest updates under the Renters’ Rights Act that many landlords are still unaware of?

Existing tenants must now be issued with the new government Information Sheet by 31st May 2026. Missing this could create compliance issues later down the line.

Alongside the removal of Section 21, stricter rent increase rules and periodic tenancies, we’re also seeing more focus on record keeping and documentation than ever before.

The landlords who stay organised and proactive now will be in a far stronger position over the next few years as further phases roll out, including the PRS database and landlord ombudsman.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Lydia is now a qualified RICS Chartered Surveyor 🎉

Lydia joined Oakwood in September 2019 as Graham’s very first member of staff, initially helping out after graduating while the business was still in its early stages. As Oakwood continued to grow, so did Lydia’s role within the company.

From supporting with valuations and preparing reports, to carrying out inspections and developing an impressive talent for valuation work, it quickly became clear that Lydia had a real future in the profession.

Alongside working full time at Oakwood, Lydia completed her PgD in Real Estate and Property Management at the University of Salford, achieving a distinction, before going on to complete the RICS qualification process.

Becoming a Chartered Surveyor is a huge achievement and a reflection of Lydia’s hard work, professionalism and dedication over the last few years.
