It was a fantastic evening, bringing together professionals from across Greater Manchester, with plenty of the Myerson team joining the celebrations.

We are taking on Cancer Research UK’s Shine Night Walk this October, and we need your support.

Colleagues from across the firm have signed up to walk through Manchester after dark on Friday 2nd October, with some tackling the 10K route and others going the distance with the half-marathon.

Together, we will be raising funds in memory of our much-loved colleague and friend, Barbara Allman, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Barbara spent five years as an important part of our Business Support team and brought warmth, kindness and friendship to Myerson every day. Taking on this challenge together is our way of celebrating the impact she had on our firm while supporting a cause that can make a difference to so many others.

Now we want to make every one of those miles count.

⚖️ High Court success for our Commercial Litigation team

Myerson has successfully defended a grounds maintenance sub-contractor in a significant restrictive covenant dispute, securing a favourable outcome and a substantial recovery of the client’s legal costs.

Led by David Jones, with support from Kit Bevan, the case concerned an urgent interim injunction application following the termination of a commercial relationship.

The stakes were significant. The restrictions were said to affect business worth close to £1 million, with potential consequences for the client’s wider business model, its staff and sub-contractors.

The High Court refused the injunction, with the judgment providing useful guidance for businesses on:

🔹 The enforceability of restrictive covenants in commercial contracts
🔹 The higher threshold that can apply where interim relief would effectively determine the dispute
🔹 Whether damages provide an adequate alternative remedy
🔹 Why parties seeking urgent injunctive relief must act promptly

A fantastic result for our client and an important decision for businesses entering into or seeking to enforce restrictive covenants.

Did you know our bee has a story behind it? 🐝

Our colourful bee, Bee-bop-a-raver, is much more than a landmark outside our offices.

Originally part of Manchester's Bee in the City trail, it found its home at Myerson in 2018 after we secured it at the charity auction supporting We Love MCR.

Today, it proudly represents our Manchester roots, our collaborative culture and the way we work together to achieve the very best outcomes for our clients.
