𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿; 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵.

This morning, I came across a post on a Schengen page for Filipinos in the Philippines, and instead of commenting there, I felt that sharing my thoughts here would be more meaningful. I also hope this message reaches the original author of the post.

As a Visa Consultant since 2022, one thing I’ve learned is that knowledge alone is not enough in this industry. What truly matters is providing accurate, honest, and case-specific information because every visa situation is different.

I wanted to speak about this topic because I believe there are still hundreds or even thousands of Filipinos who are unaware of these realities.

I understand that online resources, forum pages, consultants, immigration lawyers, and even ordinary people who have gone through similar situations will always be available to share information and experiences. But the real question is:

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲?

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲?

𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

The truth is, you don’t need “𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹” resources or hearsay. What you need is the 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛. The right information based on your own case and circumstances.

Crowdsourcing can be helpful, but always make sure that the information you receive is accurate and adaptable to your situation. We may encounter thousands of people with experiences similar to ours, but every visa application remains unique because every applicant has their own story to tell the embassy.

As someone PACSed with a French national, in a regular situation, and currently residing here in France, here’s my truth:

1. Yes, being PACSed to a French national entitles you to apply for a long-stay visa.

2. Yes, being PACSed to a French national may allow you to be considered a family member of a French national once your regular situation in France has been properly established.

3. No, a long-stay visa is not only for those who are “kailangang kasal talaga sa French national.” This is incorrect because there are many visa categories that fall under long-stay visas. Marriage to a French national is not the only pathway available.

As for the commentator who shared her experience with TLS during her own application, it was clearly based on her personal case and did not necessarily align with the author’s situation. That’s why it’s important to understand that one experience does not automatically apply to everyone.

I truly hope people become more responsible and reliable when sharing information online instead of dismissing facts simply because they feel corrected or challenged.

Knowledge is power, but accuracy gives truth. 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀.

Our client just got her third approved visa from the Swiss Embassy in the Philippines. This really shows how consistency over time matters.

She’s in a relationship with a Swiss national, and her trip is fully sponsored. She was also unemployed during the application, but her visa was still approved because her documents clearly supported her travel purpose and plans.

This is a good reminder that approval is not only about employment status. What matters most is how clear, honest, and well-prepared your application is. The Swiss Embassy can be more flexible compared to other Schengen countries, but your documents still need to make sense and align with your travel plans.

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗛 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄.

Here’s what likely happened and why it matters:

First, it’s important to understand that being “offloaded” is not always about having incomplete documents, a lack of travel history, or even one’s financial status alone. Immigration officers assess the overall travel intent and capacity to support the trip on a case-by-case basis.

In this situation, the main concern was financial preparedness.

Even if she had:

1. A stable job with regular income
2. A travel authority
3. A group she was traveling with

The issue was that her available savings were not considered sufficient to support the planned trip. She herself admitted that she did not have enough funds set aside for travel expenses.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿?

Traveling abroad as a tourist involves real costs, such as:

1. Accommodation
2. Food and daily expenses
3. Transportation
4. Activities and emergencies

Having a 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀, but immigration officers often look for 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, especially for 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘀. This doesn’t mean you need to be 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵, it simply means you should be prepared enough to sustain your travel comfortably.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 ✅

The immigration officer’s decision is not meant as punishment or judgment. It is based on assessment of risk and preparedness. In some cases, it may even prevent travelers from facing financial hardship while abroad.

Every passenger is evaluated individually based on their situation at the time of travel. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approval.

So it’s important to:

1. Plan your trip properly
2. Save enough funds in advance
3. Be able to clearly show financial capacity
4. Prepare supporting documents that reflect your readiness

My final thought:

Being offloaded does not mean your travel dreams are over. It simply means there is something to improve before your next attempt. Think of it as a lesson, not a permanent setback.

With better preparation, financial readiness, and timing, your next overseas trip can still happen. So hang in there. 🙂

Here's the timeline of my resident permit (renewal) application

✅December 2025 - January 2026 : Collecting Documents
✅February 24, 2026 : Appointment Day at the OFII (lodging of application)
✅April 23, 2026 : Resident Permit Application PROCESSED
✅May 20, 2026 : Onwards, Collection of my CDS Card

Documents to present during collection of my resident permit:

1. Appointment Letter
2. Passport ou previous CDS card
3. Receipt (récépissé)
4. 225€ tax receipt

Tips:

✨ Apply in advance before your resident permit expiration
✨ Ensure submit a complete documents, because incomplete documents, application won't be accepted or refused.
✨ If your situation had changed from the previous CDS issued, make sure to apply the appropriate resident permit applicable to your current situation.
