💷 The Pound Hits a 16-Month High Against the Euro 💷

A quick update from our partners at Lumon: sterling has gained around 2% against the euro in the past three weeks, helped by worries over France’s public finances and energy costs weighing on the euro, plus better-than-expected UK growth figures this morning. Markets are also increasingly expecting the Bank of England to raise rates on 5 November.

📅 Key dates to watch: the UK Budget in two weeks, and the US Federal Reserve decision on 28 October, which could keep GBP/USD and USD/EUR volatile.

For anyone buying in France, a 1% move against you on a €400,000 purchase means finding an extra £3,400. Fixing your rate in advance, or setting a target rate, can help you plan with more certainty.
