Did you know that it is completely normal to take your dog into a restaurant in France? Whether you're sitting out on a sunny terrace or dining inside a cozy local bistro, well-behaved dogs are almost always welcomed with open arms. In fact, many places even have a dedicated "Toutou Bar"—a fresh bowl of water waiting right by the entrance or brought straight to your table!

Here are a few other fun facts and handy tips about navigating France with your pooch:

🏖️ Check the Beaches First: While France loves dogs, many public beaches have strict restrictions or outright bans during the peak summer months. It's always best to do a quick Google search for designated "dog-friendly beaches" (or search for the French site Plages.tv) before you head to the coast so you can find the perfect spot for them to splash around.

🚂 Train Travel is Easy (But Bring a Muzzle): You can easily take your dog on French trains, including the high-speed TGV. Small dogs travel in carriers, but if your dog weighs over 6 kg, they must be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle during the trip. They will also need their own discounted pet ticket.
