Meet Floora, our newest Associate in the Tech & IP team. Some may remember her from her trainee days at Dottir in 2021, and safe to say, we’re very happy to have her back.

Floora returns to Dottir with a seriously impressive toolkit: strong expertise in privacy and data regulation, broad tech advisory experience, contract work, regulated industries, and corporate arrangements.

What keeps Floora hooked on the tech world is exactly what makes it so exciting: the pace, the unpredictability, and the constant stream of new legal questions. New sectors, new products, entirely new kinds of disputes? Count her in. Especially when there’s a chance to build something from the ground up.

And when her laptop closes? Think horseback riding, pilates, brunches, books, and quality time with Rufus – the four-legged co-star in the picture.

Partner Pello and Senior Associate Kvist after hearing they got the gig. 😁

For the first time, Finland is included in Chambers and Partners’ Venture Capital 2026 Global Practice Guide, and Dottir’s Jukka Pello, Viktor Kvist, and Sebastian Vuoritsalo authored both Finland chapters: Trends and Developments, and Law and Practice.

The Trends and Developments chapter examines a Finnish venture market that is no longer merely “emerging” but increasingly mature, technically credible, and internationally relevant. Key themes include the rise of deep tech, the growing role of cross-border capital, renewed focus on later-stage domestic funding, energy transition, resilience-oriented technologies, and well-calibrated investor protections.

The Law and Practice chapter provides a practical overview of the Finnish venture capital landscape, covering fund structures, financing documentation, investor protections, governance, employee incentives, exits, and regulatory considerations.

Jukka, Sebastian and Viktor are all part of Dottir’s multidisciplinary Venture Capital and Growth Companies focus team, which advises founders, growth companies, and investors across the Finnish startup ecosystem and is closely connected to the firm’s strong Corporate and M&A practice.

Häirintä työpaikalla ei aina ala yhdestä dramaattisesta hetkestä. Se voi hiipiä osaksi arkea epäasiallisina kommentteina, jatkuvana paineena tai epäselvinä tilanteina, jotka alkavat murentaa turvallisuuden tunnetta.

Osakkaamme ja työoikeuspraktiikkamme vetäjä Samuel Kääriäinen oli mukana Lähtijät-podcastin uusimmassa jaksossa puhumassa siitä, miten häirintätilanteissa kannattaa toimia – sekä työntekijän että työnantajan näkökulmasta.

Big ideas, ambitious founders, and a startup ecosystem with more women in it? That’s the kind of combo we’d like to see more of.

Recently, we teamed up with .community – the Nordics’ leading student-driven community empowering women in entrepreneurship – for an evening dedicated to the legal side of scaling a startup.

Our lawyers Johanna, Katja, Hanne and Sara covered the legal backbone behind scalable companies: shareholders’ agreements, term sheets, early hires, data compliance, SaaS contracts… in other words, the legal plumbing behind companies investors don’t run from.

One recurring theme of the evening: great ideas deserve solid legal foundations, and more women deserve space, support, and encouragement to turn those ideas into companies.

Huge thanks to wednesday. for the important work they do in empowering the next generation of female founders. If the energy in the room was any indication, we’ll surely be hearing from many of these founders again.

From a finance bro to a true legal tech expert? Enter Joachim, our new Head of Technology.

Joachim holds an MSc in Financial Economics from Hanken, but after a career pivot, he found his true professional calling in legal tech. And we’re glad he did. At Dottir, he’s in charge of keeping our ICT environment running while steering us toward the next frontier of legal tech and AI.

His dream scenario? Creating Legal AI solutions that genuinely transform how lawyers and clients work together as smoothly as possible. Around the office, he’s known for staying impressively calm under pressure – a trait we’re sure will come in handy when solving all kinds of IT problems.

When Joachim logs off, he enjoys spending time with his family, with two small kids keeping his life booked and busy.

Yesterday, Femcode Collective took over our HQ again for another vibe-coding event. 

On deck this time was growth hacker Heidi Suutari, who showed that building a working mobile app in 2026 is no longer the moonshot it used to be. 

After Heidi’s demo, the room got to work. Vibe coding business as usual: laptops open, drinks in hand, keyboards clicking, participants fully locked in. The kicker: finished products looked like real products.

That’s the formula. 

Big shoutout to Heidi, Femcode Collective, Herizon, and every builder who showed up, built, and iterated.

Our Corporate and M&A team just leveled up: Say hello to our new Associate Nathalie.

Nathalie has been described by others as “exceptionally into M&A”, bringing the kind of curiosity that doesn’t clock out. She’s genuinely fascinated by deals, industries, and how businesses tick, which makes her exactly the kind of person you want in the room when things get complex (and interesting, which can often mean the same thing).

Before her legal studies, Nathalie worked for years in a goldsmith store, where she developed an eye for next-level client service (and, admittedly, a taste for fine jewellery). That people-first mindset still shows: she’s known for being equal parts organized, innovative, and someone who actually enjoys coordinating moving pieces. Add her experience in legal tech and legal design to the mix, and you’ve got a real Dottir-style M&A lawyer.

Off the clock, you can spot Nathalie at the gym, in aerial yoga, tending to her plants, or planning her next home renovation project. Welcome to our humble abode!
