🥳 Celebrating Our Manchester Pre-Pride Event 🏳️🌈
On Thursday August 20, our Manchester office opened its doors to colleagues and clients alike for a special pre-Pride event — and what an evening it was! With Manchester Village Pride weekend just around the corner, it felt like the perfect moment to come together as a community and celebrate everything that makes this time of year so important.
The undoubted highlight of the evening was a truly inspiring presentation from Paul Fairweather MBE. Paul took us on a powerful journey through the founding of the George House Trust and his own remarkable history of HIV and LGBT+ activism, spanning several decades. From the earliest days of the Trust to the present, his stories were a moving reminder of the courage, resilience, and solidarity that have driven the fight for equality. His passion and commitment left a lasting impression on everyone in the room, and we are incredibly grateful to him for sharing his experiences with us.
Alongside the presentation, guests enjoyed a wonderful spread of food and refreshments, with music helping to create a warm and celebratory atmosphere throughout the evening. It was a joy to see colleagues and clients mingling, sharing conversations, and taking the time to reflect on how far we have come — while recognising the work that still lies ahead.
Events like these are so important. They give us the opportunity not only to celebrate but also to listen, learn, and reaffirm our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion — values that sit at the heart of everything we do.
The event was organised by Charlie Mallinson and Zoe Whitmore, our Manchester Perspective LGBTQ+ Network Reps, and a huge thank you to them for all their hard efforts.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a memorable occasion. We're already looking forward to next year. Happy Pride, Manchester! 🏳️🌈
