𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗯𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀—two who entered on a Schengen visa and one American who flew in visa-free—also applied for the DNV from within Spain and were 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 after responding to a request for additional documents. The requested documents, proof of work experience and self-employed registration, were 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 but may have been overlooked in the initial review.

𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙐𝙂𝙀 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬?
May and early June filings are largely resolved, while July filings are still being processed. Someone who filed in May should not compare their current status directly with someone who filed in July.

𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚?
Administrative silence has not affected main applicants and dependents in the same way. Lakbyte's April-to-July case data shows that dependents have been considerably more likely to reach administrative silence than main applicants, while a much larger share of main applicants have received direct resolutions.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨?
Main applicants generally follow a different timeline. According to Lakbyte's case data, 87% of main applicants were approved directly within the first four to five weeks after filing, without entering administrative silence. However, this is also changing recently as more main applicants are also entering admin silence.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨?
Dependents generally follow later. The data in the report indicates that spouses and children typically receive decisions about four weeks after the main applicant, with most approvals occurring between weeks seven and ten after filing.

Since our August 14 update, we’ve seen a few new developments involving DNV applications filed from within Spain after entering on a Schengen visa.

As of August 17, 2026, 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗯𝘆𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 for an applicant who 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗡𝗩 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮.
