Norte) and Madrid. It was created in 2004 by Isabel Montesinos and since then has been providing both residents and foreigners, with expert guidance on such matters as property conveyances and property law in general, contractual disputes, setting up business, as well as family law and inheritances. We take honesty, excellence, professionalism and commitment to our clients as essential values that we try to develop every day through a personal and direct contact with them in their own language, adjusting to their needs; in fact, at Imont you will find experienced staff fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian, Polish, German and Russian. 🇬🇧 THE SUPREME COURT OVERTURNS THE CREATION OF THE SINGLE REGISTER FOR TOURIST ACCOMMODATION.
In its ruling No. 620/2026, the Supreme Court has overturned the creation of a single national register for holiday rental properties. The court argues that the State lacks the legal authority to impose such a register, as this power lies primarily with the autonomous communities. Although the centralised register has been annulled, the ruling upholds the validity of the digital one-stop shop and the obligations of platforms to share statistical data. The ruling seeks to balance European regulations on transparency in short-term rentals with respect for the distribution of territorial powers in Spain. In this way, the current housing crisis is acknowledged, whilst regional autonomy is protected against excessive state intervention.🔑

🇳🇱HET SUPREME GERECHTSHOF VERNIETIGT DE INSTELLING VAN HET EENVOUDIGE REGISTER VOOR TOERISTISCHE WONINGEN.
Het Supreme Gerechtshof heeft in zijn beslissing nr. 620/2026 de instelling van een nationaal register voor vakantieverhuurwoningen vernietigd. Het hof stelt dat de staat niet over de wettelijke bevoegdheid beschikt om een dergelijk register op te leggen, aangezien deze bevoegdheid in de eerste plaats bij de autonome gemeenschappen berust. Hoewel het gecentraliseerde register wordt vernietigd, handhaaft de uitspraak de geldigheid van het digitale éénloketsysteem en de verplichtingen van de platforms om statistische gegevens te delen. De uitspraak beoogt een evenwicht te vinden tussen de Europese regelgeving inzake transparantie bij kortetermijnverhuur en de eerbiediging van de verdeling van territoriale bevoegdheden in Spanje. Op deze wijze wordt de huidige huisvestingscrisis erkend, maar wordt de regionale autonomie beschermd tegen buitensporige staatsinmenging.

Great news for property buyers in Comunidad Valenciana
The Comunidad Valenciana has approved a reduction in the Property Transfer Tax (ITP), lowering the general rate from 10% to 9% for resale property transactions, effective June 2026.

This adjustment, applied based on the completion date at the notary, represents a direct reduction in acquisition costs and a positive step towards improving market accessibility.

This tax change enhances the region’s competitiveness and reinforces its appeal for both national and international property investors.
