ENTRY STAMPS IN SPAIN – SMALL DETAIL, BIG CONSEQUENCES
We’re seeing more and more cases where this is causing **serious immigration problems** 👇
📌 **Your entry stamp = proof of when you legally entered Spain**
And yes — this is now being checked very closely for visas and renewals.
---
✈️ **Arriving by Plane?**
✅ You’ll usually receive a passport stamp on arrival
---
🚗 **Arriving by Car or via another EU country?**
⚠️ You may NOT get a stamp
👉 This can create problems when you need to prove:
* Your legal entry date
* Your time spent in Spain
* Your eligibility for residency or renewals
---
🏢 **No Stamp? Here’s What To Do**
✔️ Go to a **Policía Nacional** station ASAP
✔️ Request a **“declaración de entrada”**
✔️ Take with you:
* Passport
* Proof of travel (tickets, fuel receipts, tolls, etc.)
⏳ You normally have **72 hours from arrival** — don’t leave it too late!
---
🚫 **VERY IMPORTANT – VISA START DATE**
If you have a visa (like a Non-Lucrative Visa):
❗ You **CANNOT enter Spain before the start date shown in your visa**
👉 Even if you arrive earlier via another EU country, it can:
* Complicate your residency process
* Cause issues with your TIE application
* Lead to delays or even refusals
---
⚠️ **Why This Matters**
Without correct entry proof or if you enter too early:
❌ You may struggle to prove legal stay
❌ Your application or renewal could be refused
❌ You could face unnecessary delays and stress
💬 **Our Advice**
Always enter Spain **on or after your visa start date**
And if you don’t get a stamp — **sort it immediately**
