| 🇪🇸 Can you move to Spain and handle the visa process yourself? Absolutely.

You can download the checklist.
Collect the documents.
Fill out the forms.
Get the Apostilles and translations.

But here’s the part a checklist can’t always tell you: how those requirements apply to your specific case. 👀

Your employment situation, finances, family circumstances and even how your documents connect with each other can change the way your application needs to be prepared.

Because having all the documents isn’t necessarily the same as having a clear, coherent and well-prepared immigration file.

📖 In our latest blog, we explore what a visa checklist can tell you—and, more importantly, what it can’t: https://relocationforexpats.es/moving-to-spain-from-usa-visa-guide/

| 🇪🇸 New to Madrid? September is giving you a pretty good welcome. 👀

Between paperwork, appointments and figuring out your new routine, it’s easy to forget one important part of relocation: actually enjoying the city you moved to. 💛

So we picked 3 plans worth getting out of the house for this September:

🎬 One last movie night at Cibeles de Cine
🏎️ A historic first F1 weekend at MADRING
🏛️ The chance to step inside some of Madrid’s incredible palaces—for free

Because feeling at home in a new city sometimes starts with simply getting out there and discovering it.

When Lukas moved from Germany to Málaga as an EU citizen, he knew he wanted more sunshine and a life closer to the sea.

What he didn't expect was how much he would fall in love with the lifestyle. 🇩🇪➡️🇪🇸

☀️ Coffee outside almost all year round
🌊 Evening walks by the Mediterranean
🐟 Fresh seafood and discovering new Spanish dishes
🍷 Long lunches that aren't meant to be rushed
🌴 And a climate that makes spending time outdoors part of everyday life

For Lukas, Málaga didn't just mean moving somewhere warmer.

It meant discovering a different way of enjoying his days.

Sometimes building a life in another country isn't about one big moment. It's the small routines, favorite places and local flavors that slowly make you realize:

“I live here now. And it feels like home.” ❤️

Thank you, Lukas, for sending us this little postcard from Málaga.

📍 What would make you choose Málaga: the weather, the food, the sea… or all three?

🇪🇸 Can you apply for your Spain visa by yourself? Of course you can! 😊

Many people do—and that’s completely okay. 🙌

But a visa application isn’t just about collecting documents and ticking boxes. It’s about understanding what your specific case requires and making sure your application clearly supports it.

Sometimes, having professional guidance simply means fewer doubts, better preparation, and someone there when those “Wait… what does this actually mean?” moments happen. 😅

Whether you’re doing it yourself or looking for support, the important thing is to apply informed, prepared and confident. 💛

💬 Are you planning to handle your Spain visa yourself, or would you rather have some guidance along the way?

| 🇪🇸 “Do I have to pay taxes in Spain?” The 183-day rule might not give you the full answer. 👀

Tax residency in Spain isn’t determined by just one number. Where you spend your time, where your economic interests are based, and even where your family lives can all become relevant when determining your tax situation.

And because tax rules are much easier to understand with real-life scenarios, our latest blog breaks them down through practical examples: from someone retiring on the Costa del Sol 🏡 to an entrepreneur working for foreign clients from Barcelona 💻.

Same country. Very different situations.

📖 If you’re moving to Spain—or already splitting your life between Spain and another country—read the full blog to understand what Spanish tax residency could mean for you.

🇪🇸 Got your TIE appointment? Now it’s time to make sure you’re actually ready for it. 👀

Spanish immigration offices follow very specific procedures, and sometimes something as simple as a missing photocopy, an unsigned form or the wrong government fee can mean unnecessary delays—or having to book another appointment.

That’s why preparation matters.

As part of our TIE assistance, we help make the process easier by preparing your official forms, generating the correct government fee forms, and giving you a clear, step-by-step checklist of what to bring, how to organize it and what to expect on the day. 📋✨

Because getting the appointment is only part of the process. Arriving prepared is what really matters.

📌 TIE appointment coming up? Save this Reel for later—and contact our team if you’d like help getting everything ready.
