Long Range Travel

Long Range Travel Creators of authentic journeys through Egypt’s living heritage. From Nile cruises to historic homes — we go beyond the pyramids.

Over 40 years of expertise in desert expeditions, cultural tours, and bespoke travel experiences. Long Range Travel is an Egyptian travel company established in 2008 with a focus on desert tourism, safari adventures, and the internationally renowned Pharaohs Rally. In 2011, the company expanded its operations through a strategic partnership that enabled us to handle major charter operations for to

ur operators to destinations including Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and the North Coast. This partnership allowed Long Range Travel to build on decades of professional experience, drawing from our team’s involvement in Sharm El Sheikh tourism since the 1980s. Since those early days, our team has managed charter operations for major tour operators from a wide range of international markets. The partnership itself is a collaboration between two hotel development and management companies — the Egyptian Vacation Club and Shores Hotels (managed by Otium Hotels International). Together, they operate seven hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, one in Marsa Alam, and one on the North Coast. Long Range Travel has also handled two of the largest charter operations in Italy: Eden Viaggi and Alpitour, with a combined total of over 700 weekly clients. This number reflects the tourism downturn post-2011; prior to that, we regularly managed over 1,000 clients per week. In December 2015, we expanded our partnership with Eden Viaggi by opening a new travel agency in Salalah, Oman. Charter operations began there on December 14, 2015. In addition to our owned properties, we maintain contracts and partnerships with over 30 hotels and resorts in Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, Hurghada, and Cairo — spanning a range of categories and service levels. Long Range Travel is proud to have been one of the key organizers of the Pharaohs Rally since its inception. This internationally respected desert racing event draws competitors from across the globe for an exhilarating challenge in Egypt’s Western Desert. We currently operate branches in Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and the North Coast, with plans to expand into Alexandria and the Delta region in the near future. As a company, we are continuously seeking new opportunities and remain committed to maintaining and advancing our professionalism in the tourism sector.

Rising from the heart of Siwa, the Shali Fortress stands as a striking relic of mudbrick architecture shaped by salt and sand. Built from kershef, its weathered walls and narrow passages tell the story of a community once bound by both necessity and ingenuity.

For thousands of years, Egyptians have welcomed spring as a season of renewal, life, and quiet celebration. Along the Nile, ancient communities once marked this moment with offerings, gatherings, and symbols of rebirth that echoed through daily life.

With the arrival of Christianity, Easter became a sacred time of reflection, yet in Egypt, traditions did not disappear. They evolved. Today, the spirit of Sham El-Nessim continues to bring people together, where coloured eggs, shared meals, and sunlit gatherings carry forward a story that has never truly been interrupted.
