Mai Zahran, Founder and Managing Partner of Moral Compass Law Firm for Consultation Services and International Arbitration
Mai Zahran graduated from the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University – English Section in 2007, and obtained a diploma in International Arbitration from the Arbitration Center at Ain Shams University in 2008.
The challenge for Mai Zahran began from the moment she chose to join the Faculty of Law, as all her family members practice medicine.
Choosing a different path was her first big challenge, but her mother supported her in her decision. And from there on, her mother’s constant support became the driving force behind all her future professional decisions.
From the very first moment after her graduation, Mai Zahran dedicated herself to working in the legal field, starting as a trainee. In less than six months, she began to arise in her career at international law firms such as the law firm of Al-Nadoury and Al-Nahhas; and the law firm of Ibrachy and Dermarkar, eventually handling over 80 cases annually that required her full supervision.
At the beginning of 2011, Mai encountered another major challenge: marriage and how to balance it with her career. This required her to change her workplace to suit her new life changes. She joined the legal department of Lotus Holding Company as a lawyer, and within less than three years, and at the beging of 2014 she was promoted to become head of Legal Department.
Here, another influential figure emerged in Mai’s professional life alongside her mother—Mrs. AmanyEl-Bortokaly, a board member of Lotus Holding CO., who supported Mai throughout the 10 years she worked at the company.
By the end of 2019, Mai Zahran faced a major obstacle that nearly led her to retire from work altogether. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Ironically, that same year, she had made the decision to establish her own legal firm.
Despite all the challenges and obstacles , Mai Zahran chose to pursue her dream and launched her own law firm at the beginning of 2020. Through it, she has been able to stand up for the oppressed and help anyone in need of legal assistance across various fields of law, and she continues to this day.
