Lake-No County Receives 42 recovered calves out of 62 stolen calves through peaceful inter-County cooperation.
07/July/2026—Biu, Lake-No County.
The office of the commissioner of Lake-No County has announced the successful recovery and return of the stolen calves following the collective efforts of the governments and security authorities of Ruweng Administrative and Unity State.
Being reaffirmed by the commissioner, the calves were recovered after a sustained peace deal, security coordination and peaceful engagement following a cattle raiding incident that occurred on 20th/June/2026. While expressing appreciation for the recovery of the majority of the stolen livestocks, the commissioner acknowledged the efforts on way to trace the missing ones and ensure that the criminals responsible for the incident are brought into justice very soon.
He further reiterates that cattle raiding incurs instability in the communities and that the criminals who insistently carry these acts should be disciplined as an act of lawful commitment.
He lastly concluded by recommending peaceful coexistence in the neighbouring counties of Guit, Rubkona, Aliiny, Tuoch and Lake-No County as the only way to strengthen inter-Counties relations—to further prevent unforeseen unrest in the region.
