Over the year, we have a lot of visiting researchers from all over the world at the Europa-Institut to advance their research. One of them is Prof. Dr. Ilke Göcmen, Professor at Ankara University Law Faculty, Head of Department of European Union Law (Turkey 🇹🇷 ).

"Being a recipient of The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's Georg Forster Research Fellowship for Sustainable Development has been instrumental in making my stay at the Europa-Institut immensely fruitful. The financial support provided by the fellowship has alleviated practical concerns, allowing me to fully focus on my research and academic commitments. Additionally, the fellowship has opened doors to unique opportunities, such as access to network meetings, which allowed me to reach with fellow Humboldtians, or to scientific events, such as conferences related to sustainable development. I am grateful for the support, which has significantly contributed to the success of my research during my time at Saarland University Europa-Institut."

Over the year, we have a lot of Visiting Researchers from all over the world at the Europa-Institut to advance their research. One of them is Nikola Murdzev, PhD Candidate at Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law in Skopje, North Macedonia 🇲🇰.

🗣️: How do you like your stay at the Europa-Institut?

💬: "The research stay at the Europa-Institut was enjoyable, productive, useful, well structured from the organizers, and much needed to further shape, progress and expand my doctorate content. I visited many countries and universities across Europe in the last few years to acquire additional skills, knowledge, and subsequently to meet with European stakeholders in relation to my research field of interest, and I can share that the time spent on research at the Europa-Institut was unique and it stands out in various aspects."

🗣️: What are the advantages of receiving the scholarship?

💬 : "The available literature that the library has stockpiled and aggregated over the decades, is a treasury by itself. The library has collected a vast pool of literature by many renowned authors in Germany and in Europe. Having in mind that some of the bibliography is even today not available on electronic formats and it is accessible only by a paper format, the utilization of the library materials certainly stood out.

Another aspect is related to networking. Undertaking a research stay in particular, is also providing a boost in terms of the construction of an academic research that a PhD Candidate is conducting on a given period of time, however, it also provided opportunity to meet with some old acquaintances and friends, while at the same time providing opportunities to expand contacts by meeting new peers that have stood out in their respective areas of research."

Over the year, we have a lot of Visiting Researchers from all over the world at the Europa-Institut to advance their research. One of them is Harun Iseric, Senior Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant, PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo (Bosnia Herzegovina 🇧🇦)

🗣️: How do you like your stay at the Europa-Institut?

💬: "I love it! This is my second time at Europa-Institut and I was very excited to come back to complete my PhD research. In addition to improving personal skills, the research stay strengthens the bonds between the Institute and our domestic institutions. The staff and support they provide make everyone feel at home. The environment they have created greatly stimulates the achievement of the goal for which a researcher came. That's how the Europa-Institut has become my second home."

🗣️: What are the advantages of receiving the scholarship?

💬: "Europa-Institut library as well as other libraries at the University campus provide exhaustive resources for the research. The campus environment and the woods around it stimulate the work and help focus. Discussion with peers from across the world brings new perspectives into a field of research and contributes to the quality of the paper/dissertation. Finally, Saabrücken has a perfect geographical position, making it possible to do one-day research in Strasbourg, Frankfurt, or Luxemburg."
