We are pleased to welcome Georgia Nikolaou to the Totalserve team as Advocate in the Corporate Department.

Georgia has practical experience in corporate, migration, property, family and inheritance law, as well as civil litigation, representing clients in a range of civil disputes and court proceedings.

Georgia currently serves as Secretary of the Business Relocation Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association for the term 2024-2026. She is also a Certified Data Protection Officer (DPO) as of 2025.

At Totalserve, Georgia supports corporate and legal matters relating to Cyprus and international companies, contributing to the team’s work across corporate administration, legal procedures and client support.

We are pleased to welcome Anna Achilleos to the Totalserve team as Advocate in the Corporate Department.

Anna is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Maritime Law and Maritime Management, further strengthening her knowledge in commercial and maritime matters.

Anna has practical experience in corporate and commercial law, including the drafting and review of corporate and commercial agreements, support with corporate procedures and transactions, and the maintenance of statutory registers.

At Totalserve, Anna is involved in a wide range of corporate matters relating to Cyprus and international companies, supporting both the legal and administrative aspects of corporate work and contributing to the effective management of client portfolios.

Totalserve at the Deputy Ministry of Shipping

Shipping remains one of Cyprus’ most important international sectors, with new developments, new challenges and an ongoing need for practical cooperation between the public and private sector.

Our Founder and Honorary Chairman Peter G. Economides and Maria Theocharous, shipping lawyer, visited the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Shipping for a meeting with Deputy Minister Mrs. Marina Hadjimanolis and members of her team.

The discussion covered digitalisation, recent and upcoming developments in shipping, legislative matters, and the wider role of Cyprus as an international shipping centre.

With many years of experience advising clients in shipping-related legal, corporate, tax and structuring matters, Totalserve values the opportunity to exchange views on the sector’s priorities and its continued development in Cyprus.

With one month to go until Doers Summit Limassol, Totalserve is getting ready to present The Start-up Launchpad at Kolla Factory on 21 and 22 May.

At our kiosk, visitors will be able to find out more about The Start-up Launchpad and talk with our team about some of the practical issues that matter early in the life of a startup - setting up in Cyprus and beyond, protecting IP and trademarks, handling legal and tax matters properly, and building on a sound base for future growth.

How long can intellectual property outlive its creator?

Our latest article uses Le Petit Prince as a starting point to look at some of the more interesting legal questions around copyright duration in France, wartime extensions, trade mark protection, and the long commercial life of well-known works.

It is a useful example of how literary heritage, legal protection, and commercial value can continue to intersect many decades after first publication.

The Cyprus Tax Department has announced the 2026 reference rates for Notional Interest Deduction (NID), based on 10-year government bond yields as at 31 December 2025.

These rates, increased by 5%, may be used in calculating NID on new equity used for business purposes. Subject to the relevant conditions, NID can reduce taxable profits, with the deduction capped at 80% of the profit generated by the new equity.
