My Practicing fees this year increased almost double in price of what I paid last year, likewise the branch dues, purchase of seal and other dues. To pay the money is inching my chest, but I must pay to be able to practice this year or get my seal this year. Apart from always updating our intellectual, We keep paying dues to remain in practice unlike other professions. That is why we charge for legal advice and consultation, otherwise google is your friend. Most times that 5mins talk or 30mins talk as the case maybe might save you 5 years trouble or loss.

Teacher caught on tape ass@ulting pupil remanded in Kirikiri

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned Stella Nwadigbo, aged 45, for indecent treatment and assault of a child. Nwadigbo who was arraigned in Magistrate Court 1, Ogba today, January 9, 2025, went viral on Wednesday, January 8 after a video of her indecently treating and assaulting a three-year-old pupil of a primary school where she teaches in Ikorodu area of Lagos State went viral.

Following receipt of the video, the Family Support Unit (FSU) of Ikorodu Police Division promptly arrested the suspect on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 and transferred her to the Gender Unit of the Command Headquarters same day after preliminary investigations. The victim was taken to a medical facility for adequate medical attention.

She was arraigned on charges bordering on indecent treatment and as`sault of a child. She pleaded not guilty to the charges. Chief Magistrate O. Kushanu granted the her N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

The suspect has since been remanded to Kirikiri Correctional facility till February 18, 2025 when the case comes up for continuation of hearing.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olanrewaju Ishola while commending Nigerians for promptly alerting the police to the situation, assures them of the ever-readiness of the Command to respond quickly and appropriately to situations towards ensuring the safety and security of resident and visitors to Lagos State.

Dear Litigants, recently over 4,000 people's bank account was placed a "PND" (meaning their account was blocked)from Abuja by Inspection General of Police through a court order, due to an ongoing fraud investigation.

The people affected cut across all the states. But only the court who gave the order can still set aside the order. If you know your account was blocked from Abuja whether or not you are in Abuja chat me up now let's get it unfreezed.

Moreso becareful if you go to the bank you might be arrested straight up. Find below the court order,these are not the complete names.

ANAMBRA – A 30-year-old suspected fake lawyer, Mr Obinna Orezue, an indigene of Abba in Anambra State has been arrested by the police today, 13th June 2024 in Otuocha High Court 2.

According to OMT correspondent who attended the court proceeding,
The suspect came to represent the plaintiff in suit no. OT/120/2022.

He told the court that the defendant has not filed defence nor anything in the said suit.

The Hon. Presiding judge asked if he knew what to do if the defendant refuses to file a process, he said yes but could not tell the court what was to be done. Then the Judge asked another lawyer in court to help him, after the lawyer answered the question correctly, the imposter failed again when he was asked to repeat what the lawyer said.

The Judge further asked if Motions are being accompanied by prayer. He replied no.

The Judge asked him the University he attended, firstly he answered Kano. Secondly he answered UNIZIK and that he graduated in year 2015, later on he said he attended University of Igbariam.

He said that he was called to bar in 2019. He later told the court that he had financial challenges.

He was again asked the following questions:

What is the name of your project supervisor?

What is your call to bar number?

That he should mention the name of any law lecturer in the Universities he alleged to have attended.

He was asked to mention the name of the Dean of faculty of law in those schools he alleged to have attended.
HE WAS UNABLE TO ANSWER ALL THESE QUESTIONS

Meanwhile, further investigation revealed that the suspected fake lawyer did not submit credentials to his employer, a law firm based in Onitsha, M.T OLISE-EKE before the incident.

The Learned Judge ordered his employer to appear in court next week Wednesday for further clarification and possible prosecution.

When we charge you for a job, we charge you for our time, experience and knowledge, but you will complain that our fees are to exorbitant ,and then look for a lawyer that will charge a cheaper fee, well dear litigant that lawyer could be a fake lawyer.
You will know a real lawyer by the way he/she charges you.
