The final wave of pandemic-era mortgages is now coming up for renewal. While more homeowners expect to manage the transition than they did a year ago, many are still feeling uncertain.
Royal LePage's 2026 Mortgage Renewal Survey found that 38% of homeowners expect their monthly mortgage payment to increase, down from 57% in early 2025. At the same time, one third of mortgage holders say they feel more anxious about their upcoming renewal than they did at their previous renewal.
