🏡Yesterday marked a meaningful milestone for Mikisew Commons. 🏡

The day began with a Pipe Ceremony led by Elder Ken Saddleback, followed by a Project Announcement and Land Blessing alongside Mikisew community members, Elders, Indigenous leaders, partners, and guests.

Located in northeast Edmonton, Mikisew Commons is one of the largest Indigenous-led housing developments in Canadian history. The community will bring 438 new residential units to the area, including 180 non-market affordable units.

The development will also include fully barrier-free units, commercial and retail space, and an energy-efficient design built to create lasting value for residents and future generations. 🌿

We are grateful to everyone who joined us for this important moment and to the partners working together to bring this vision forward. 🤝

Construction is set to begin this fall.
