As the City develops a Housing Action Plan, recent projects across Whitehorse show whatโs possible when governments, non-profits, developers and community partners work together.
Winter Crossing, Normandy Living, the Northern Community Land Trust and The Hearth are creating affordable homeownership opportunities, supportive housing, senior housing and others add much-needed rental homes.

The largest affordable housing initiative in Yukon history, Winter Crossing received $2.3 million through the Cityโs Rental and Supportive Housing Development Incentive, along with support from territorial, federal, Indigenous and development partners. Construction is expected to wrap up next year.
The Housing Action Plan will build on lessons from projects like these to help support future housing solutions.
