Japan. Beijing. Motherhood. Community.

When I look back, I can trace so much of who I am to four life-altering moments.

Living and working in Japan and meeting Thomas.
Moving to Beijing and building a career abroad.
Becoming a mom and discovering a deeper meaning of home.
And starting Yvonne’s Fitness, where community and connection changed me forever.

None of these chapters came with certainty first.

But they all began with courage.

Maybe that’s why I believe the biggest decisions in life and in real estate deserve thoughtful guidance, honesty, and confidence.

What’s one life moment that changed you forever?

Sometimes moving isn’t about square footage.

It’s about peace of mind.

The Martins didn’t move because they wanted something flashy. They moved because life had changed.

Two teenagers.
One and a half bathrooms.
A neighbourhood that no longer felt like the right fit.

And underneath all of that? Fear.

Fear of overpaying.
Fear of bidding wars.
Fear of making the wrong move.

So we slowed down.

We got clear on what actually mattered:
• More space
• A quieter, safer street
• A home that fit their budget without pressure or panic

No chaos. No desperation. No rushing into something that didn’t feel right.

Today, the kids have their own rooms and bathrooms. Mom and dad can finally sit on the couch at night and just… breathe.

This is why I do what I do.

For growing families, moving up is rarely just about the house. It’s about lifestyle, safety, and creating a home that fits the next chapter.

If your home doesn’t fit your family anymore, let’s talk. It starts with a conversation.

No gatekeeping.

One of the ways I protect my peace and reset my mindset is actually very simple.

I journal every day, usually at night.

Before bed, I write down at least 3 wins from the day, big or small, and spend a few moments in gratitude and appreciation.

Why?

Because our brains naturally replay problems, worries, and unfinished conversations. But I’ve learned that when I intentionally look for progress, gratitude, and what went right, it changes my energy and perspective.

This is not about pretending life is perfect or being positive all the time.

It’s about giving your mind another story to hold onto before tomorrow begins.

Try this tonight:
• 3 wins
• 3 gratitudes

And tell me… what is one small win from your day?

Here’s why so many families feel stuck in the home they’ve outgrown…

It’s usually not because they don’t want more space.

It’s because they’re worried about making the wrong move.

Should we sell first?
What if we can’t find the next home?
What if the timing doesn’t work?

I hear these questions all the time.

And honestly? Moving feels overwhelming when you don’t have a clear plan.

That’s exactly why I created my FREE Move with Confidence Guide.

A simple step-by-step resource to help growing families understand their options and move forward with more clarity and confidence.

I won’t say what you want to hear just so you’ll hire me.

Plenty of agents in South Surrey/White Rock will agree with your price, your timeline, and tell you the market is whatever you need it to be in that moment.

Then the home sits.

And the cost lands on you.

Here’s what the “yes agent” can actually cost:

• Price reductions every few weeks
• A stale listing buyers start questioning
• Extra stress and carrying costs
• Often relisting later at a lower number than where you could have started

My job is not to win the listing appointment.

My job is to help get you to the closing table with the outcome you want.

And sometimes that means uncomfortable conversations in our very first meeting.

If the data says something different than you hoped, I’ll show you the data.

If the asking price is too high, you’ll hear it.

If a renovation won’t pay back the spend, you’ll hear it.

If waiting another quarter makes more sense than listing now, you’ll hear that too before the market makes the point for you.

This approach is not for every seller.

Some people want an agent who agrees with everything.

I’m not that agent.

If you want honest counsel and strategy built on what’s actually happening in South Surrey and White Rock, DM me and let’s talk.

The version of me you see today didn’t happen overnight.

There was a season where my weekends were filled with Zumba Kids birthday parties, community events, dancing in the mall for Ivivva and Lululemon, warm-ups for the Terry Fox Run, Ivivva Family Run, and the Chinatown Street Festival.

It was loud, joyful, creative, and full of energy.

I blended Zumba, dance games, birthday cake, and community… and eventually that chapter grew into after-school and daycare programs all summer long.

Looking back, I realize those years taught me more than dance.

They taught me how to connect, build community, and make people feel welcomed and included.

And honestly… I still carry those lessons today.

Whether through fitness or real estate, I’ve always loved helping people move forward with confidence into their next chapter.

The sign said Open House… but what I saw today were people imagining their next chapter.

35 people through this Morgan Creek home and lots of conversations about what matters most: space, lifestyle, and moving with confidence.

Nobody teaches us how to communicate in relationships.

A lot of us learn through experience… and sometimes through saying things we later wish we had handled differently.

These are 4 phrases I’m personally trying to retire:

• “You should already know”
• “I’m fine”
• “You always / You never”
• “I’ll just do it myself”

Still learning. Still growing. But I’ve realized that understanding each other matters more than winning.

Which one do you think is the hardest to stop saying?
