Our Story
Alinea Legal Coaching was born in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia and has opened an office in the heart of Duncan, British Columbia. Our mission is to provide effective and affordable legal services and support to clients who want to tackle their family legal matter and stay in the driver’s seat while doing so. We love our work and our clients and do what it takes to see them through to the end of their legal matter.
What exactly does this mean?
The easiest way to explain it is in contrast to the tradition legal services model. Until now, if you were going through a separation or a divorce you had two options: 1. try to deal with it yourself with little to no support, risking unforeseen or negative consequences down the road, or 2. put down a $5,000 retainer just for a law firm to get started working on your matter with the promise of requests for that retainer to be replenished within a month or two.With the traditional model, the lawyer takes charge and handles the matter from start to finish.
Our legal coaching model means that the client stays in charge of their own matter and decides when and how they want the support of the lawyer. This means that the client may come in for an hour of consultation once a month for an hour or it could mean the client requests the lawyer to review or draft documents. The bottom line is that the client chooses how much money to spend, how often they want to use their lawyer, and what they want their lawyer to do for them.
