This summer, e-bikes are everywhere, but many Ontario parents don't realize the legal risks that come with them.

Did you know that some e-bikes are legally considered motor vehicles? Depending on their speed, power, and weight, they may require insurance under Ontario law. If they aren't properly insured, an injured rider could lose the right to recover compensation, even if the accident wasn't their fault.

Before your child heads out this summer, it's worth checking:
✔️ Their age (minimum 16 years old)
✔️ If the e-bike requires insurance
✔️ That they're wearing an approved helmet
