Our founder (and current senior counsel to the firm) Jim Quail tells the stories of his decades in the movement.

"If we don't know where we've come from, we can't figure out where to go next. People have struggled very hard to achieve things that we take for granted. They're very precious, but easily lost."

Jim Quail has fought for the rights of farmworkers, tenants, low-income consumers, and he was involved in the 2007 victory of the Hospital Employees' Union at the Supreme Court of Canada which enshrined the right of collective bargaining for all workers.

Any Rodeo worker or volunteer who experienced, saw, complained of, or were impacted by hostile or demeaning conduct by management and members of the Rodeo's Board between 2012 to July 12, 2021 can join our group of brave women up until March 28, 2023, the BC Human Rights Tribunal's cut-off date for joining.
You may be eligible for monetary damages for breaches of your human rights and your right to work and volunteer in a harassment-free, discrimination-free workplace.

A human rights complaint has been launched on behalf of workers and volunteers of the Cloverdale Rodeo & Exhibition Association against the Association and the City of Surrey. British Columbia’s Human Rights Tribunal accepted this complaint for filing in January 2022.
