Alberta’s regulated iGaming market opened on July 13, 2026 with 22 operator sites live, out of roughly 50 operators that had registered and paid fees. The operators in that gap are running out of runway.
October 13, 2026 is the outer limit Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis set for completing the transition. Registrants that are not fully operational in Alberta by then are expected to be out of the market.
The exposure is not a fine. AGLC’s transition guidance points to a finding of unsuitability for iGaming registration, and suitability is a continuing condition, not an entry test.

Renewal, cancellation, refund, and return terms need to be clear and upfront. Subscription businesses have new rules on renewal notices too. And it applies to contracts already in place, not just new ones.
