British Columbia has entered a new era of gaming regulation. With the IGCO now in place, new supplier and service provider classes, revised fees, and a stronger compliance and AML mandate are now part of the province’s regulatory framework.

For gaming businesses, this is more than a structural update. It may affect registration status, fee obligations, and how compliance programs need to operate going forward.

If you are active in British Columbia’s gaming market, this is one to watch.

Alberta's regulated iGaming market has an official launch date. Beginning July 13, 2026, operators may conduct and manage their registered iGaming platforms in Alberta, with all AGLC applications, fees, and contracts with the Alberta iGaming Corporation due as of that date.

July 13 is equally significant for existing operators. Any operator currently conducting an unregulated lottery scheme in Alberta must submit its registration application and cease all unregulated activity by that date. The AGLC has been clear that late applications will not be treated as a valid basis for missing this deadline, and any extension beyond July 13 remains discretionary and narrow.

If you are an operator or supplier looking to enter Alberta's regulated market, the time to act is now.
