IRCC has clarified that LMIF points for qualifying high-wage Canadian work experience will be recalculated automatically. However, candidates seeking points for a qualifying job offer must update their Express Entry profiles with the required information before November 3, 2026.

IRCC is considering removing the additional 25 or 50 CRS points awarded for French-language proficiency. Core language points would remain, but candidates who rely on these bonus points could see their overall CRS score drop if the proposal is implemented.

The French-language category draw may continue, meaning eligible candidates could still qualify with CLB 7 or higher, even if their CRS advantage changes.

🇨🇦 Express Entry CEC Draw: 2,500 ITAs Issued!

IRCC issued 2,500 invitations on October 15, 2026, to Canadian Experience Class candidates with a minimum CRS score of 519.

This marks the largest CEC draw since August 5, with the cutoff increasing by one point from the previous draw.

With 18 CEC draws held so far in 2026, the total invitations issued under this category have reached 57,750.

Canada’s 2026 PNP admissions target is 91,500 permanent residents. By October 13, Express Entry PNP draws had issued 10,022 invitations.

The processing time difference is worth noting:
⚡ Express Entry-linked PNP: approximately 7 months
⏳ Non-Express Entry PNP: approximately 13 months

The right pathway depends on your nomination stream and eligibility. A provincial nomination does not automatically mean you can choose either route.
