⏰ Lost your temporary resident status? The 90-day countdown matters.

If your status has already expired, you may still have options—but restoration is only available within 90 days of your expiry date. Waiting too long can significantly limit what you can do next.

If you’re within that window, don’t delay.

⏳ Work permit expiring? Don’t assume you have to stop working.

If you applied to renew before your permit expired, R186(u) may allow you to continue working while IRCC processes your application—but only if you meet the right conditions.

One mistake, like changing employers, can change your work authorization.

Everyone’s talking about Canada’s “”Digital Nomad Visa””—but here’s what IRCC actually said.

Canada hasn’t introduced a new Digital Nomad Visa. Instead, IRCC clarified how temporary residents working remotely for foreign employers are assessed.

If you’re working for a foreign employer, serving foreign clients, and not entering the Canadian labour market, you’re generally not considered to be working in Canada for immigration purposes. But working with Canadian employers or clients—or making repeated long stays—can attract closer scrutiny.

The takeaway? Remote work doesn’t automatically require a work permit, but your immigration status and intent still matter.

Adopted by a Canadian citizen and born outside Canada? 🇨🇦

Don’t assume your citizenship application follows the same process as biological descendants.

With Bill C-3, important changes have opened new pathways for many adopted children—but eligibility depends on when the adoption happened and your Canadian parent’s citizenship status.

Applying under the wrong pathway can cause unnecessary delays.

Canada has extended its Ebola border measures for another 30 days, pushing the new deadline to September 28, 2026.

The impact remains significant—42,000+ immigration applications are still on hold, and 23,000+ temporary residents remain unable to travel.

If your file is connected to these measures, it’s important to stay updated on the latest developments.

⚽ IRCC has released official data from the 2026 FIFA World Cup—and it highlights an important immigration trend.

Of the 26,000+ visitors approved to travel to Canada for the tournament, 175 filed refugee claims, representing about 0.7% of approved visa holders.

This is a public IRCC data point that shows how Canada’s visitor visa and refugee protection systems can intersect in practice.
