🚨 Fraud Prevention Month 2026
The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) has launched its annual Fraud Prevention campaign, an 8-week international and multilingual initiative aimed at raising awareness about immigration fraud.
Immigration fraud can be difficult to identify, and unfortunately many individuals and families are affected each year while pursuing their dream of coming to Canada.
One of the most important steps to protect yourself is to verify that the person providing immigration advice is authorized to do so.
Under Canadian law, anyone who provides Canadian immigration or citizenship advice for a fee or any other consideration must be one of the following:
• A licensed immigration consultant in good standing with CICC
• A member of a Canadian law society (lawyer)
• A member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec
Before working with an immigration consultant, always check the College’s Public Register to confirm their status.
Together, we can help raise awareness and prevent immigration fraud.
