Story goes like this: We listed a home in New Westminster for sale, and a couple of weeks later, Nikki got a call, the lady on the other end of the line said that she would like to see the home. Turns out, Janet and Karen's grandmother was the original owner of the home when it was first built in the 1950s!
They showed us pictures of what the home used to look like and described what it was like watching the city build a new road and later the skytrain.
The pine tree in the back yard that stands now about 5 storeys high was once a seedling Janet brought home from the 4th grade.
After a great chat, Karen picked some apples from their grandmother's apple tree and mint that still grows in the front yard, in hopes to plant it in her new home now as a way to remember her grandmother.
It's heartfelt stories like these that remind us that every house was once a home. The memories made, meals shared, and joy never goes away. It was an honour to be able to help these two sisters relive their childhood.
