We’re thrilled to celebrate a recent victory by Cathleen McClughan, and to welcome her as the newest senior lawyer at YLaw.
In J.D. v. A.S., 2026 BCSC 1520, Cathleen represented a father who had been separated from his young daughter for more than a year, despite an existing parenting order.
The Supreme Court of British Columbia found that there was no justification for withholding the child, ordered the existing parenting order enforced, and put a clear reunification plan in place for father and daughter.
It’s a meaningful result for our client and an important step toward rebuilding their relationship.
Cathleen brings more than 30 years of legal experience to YLaw, with 26 years focused on family law and civil litigation. She has appeared at every level of court and has acted as counsel in leading family law cases involving parenting, relocation, and appeals.
As an experienced mediator and skilled negotiator, Cathleen works to keep her clients out of court whenever possible. When litigation is necessary, she brings the same determination, experience, and care to every level of court.
Congratulations on this important win, Cathleen, and welcome to YLaw! 👏
