Orange Shirt Day is observed annually on September 30th across Canada. It began in British Columbia in 2013 and was inspired by the experience of residential school survivor Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken away on her first day at a residential school. The orange shirt has become a symbol of the loss of culture, identity, and belonging experienced by many Indigenous children.

Hailey is committed to client-focused advocacy and practicing law through a trauma informed lens. She understands the profound impact that effective, committed advocacy can have on a person’s life. For one evening, Slater Vecchio traded the boardroom for the kitchen and thankfully, the results were just as successful!
 
Working in teams, our lawyers and case managers prepared a three-course meal featuring Dungeness crab cakes, pan-roasted halibut, and chocolate soufflé. The best part? Sitting down together to enjoy the meal we created.
 
Thank you to the team at Dirty Apron (The Dirty Apron) for hosting us and creating such a memorable experience. We left with full plates, new skills, and even stronger team connections.

Last week we celebrated our incredible team during Staff Appreciation Week
 
From testing our knowledge in trivia to teaming up for a virtual escape room, it was a week full of connection and fun. We kicked things off with some special gifts for our staff, a bagel breakfast in the office, enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation with chair massages, and topped it all off with some fun bingo.
 
We’re grateful every day for the hard work, dedication, and positive energy our team brings.
