💡Experiencing delays in your Canadian immigration/visa application? Members of Parliament may help!
Step 1⃣️: Use the following link to obtain contact information for the MP in your area:
https://www.ourcommons.ca/parliamentarians/en/constituencies/FindMP
Step 2⃣️: Once you have the MP's information, communicate with them through email, phone, letter, or appointment.
The Member of Parliament Constituency Passport Service (MCMPS) pilot project was launched by IRCC in October of last year. It allows MPs and Senators to inquire about application information on behalf of their constituents.
MCMPS forwards the inquiry application to the IRCC processing center. Non-urgent inquiries will be addressed within 2 weeks (10 business days), while urgent inquiries will be addressed within 48 hours. MPs communicate directly with the IRCC representative to obtain a response regarding the constituent's application status.
Even though some MPs have indicated that they often only receive information that the application is still being processed, without the specific reasons for delays, MPs usually have access to more detailed information compared to individual applicants.
