We are deeply honoured to announce that Ken Armstrong KC has been named the 2025 recipient of the Louis St-Laurent Award of Excellence, the most prestigious recognition awarded by the Canadian Bar Association.

The Louis St-Laurent award of Excellence is the highest award conferred to a CBA member in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding service and professional achievement to the benefit of the legal profession, the CBA and society at large.

This honour is reserved for legal professionals whose life’s work has made a lasting impact not only on the legal profession but on society as a whole. It acknowledges those who consistently go beyond individual achievement to elevate the community, inspire their peers, and advance the values of justice and public service.

Ken’s legal career spans decades of tireless advocacy, thoughtful mentorship, and principled leadership. Whether in the courtroom, the boardroom, or the community, Ken has continuously demonstrated what it means to serve with integrity, humility, and courage. Ken’s contributions are both wide-reaching and deeply personal. His legacy is not only in the cases he has taken, but in the values he has championed.

We’re excited to introduce Pedrum Mahlooji as our newest Articling Student at Icon Law Group!

Pedrum earned his L.L.B. (Honors) from the University of Kent, where he served as Academic Minister, supporting students through the challenges of law school. During his studies, he also competed in moot court, honing his advocacy and legal reasoning skills.

After earning his NCA certification in 2024, he articled in family law, gaining extensive litigation experience in both Supreme and Provincial Court.

Now at Icon Law, he applies his strong advocacy, problem-solving abilities, and client-centered approach to assist individuals navigating complex legal matters.

We are thrilled to have Pedrum on the team and look forward to seeing him make a positive impact at Icon Law Group! Please join us in welcoming him!

We are thrilled to introduce Jessica Pham as our newest Articling Student at Icon Law Group!

Jessica holds an L.L.B. from the University of Leicester, where she graduated in 2023 with first-class honours in several areas, including Constitutional and Administrative Law, Foundations of Canadian Law, Tort Law, and Employment Law. During her time in law school, Jessica excelled in moots and volunteered at the legal advice clinic, showcasing her dedication to advocacy and community service. With a strong background in personal injury law, she brings a wealth of experience and passion to her work.

Outside of work, Jessica is a mentor to aspiring law professionals, from paralegals to foreign-trained lawyers, and an active volunteer with the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL). She also serves on the NCA & LLM Committee, supporting foreign-trained lawyers in their re-licensing journey in British Columbia.
