📌All Mexican citizens now require a visa to enter Canada unless they meet all three of the following criteria:

▪️They enter Canada by air, or fly into Canada for transit to another destination.
▪️They come to Canada for a short visit (usually for a stay of up to six months). And
▪️They have either: held a Canadian visitor visa (or other temporary resident* visa) within the past 10 years or a valid US nonimmigrant visa at the time of their application and travel.

📌The newly eligible tests are:
CELPIP General: at least 7 in each of the four language speaking abilities
CAEL: minimum score of 60
PTE Academic: minimum score of 60
TOEFL iBT Test: minimum score of 83

🔺Students must participate in these exams in person. Online and remote tests will not be accepted for SDS applicants.

🔹Starting March 1, 2023, these measures will become easier for Iranians who wish to extend their temporary status in Canada and move between temporary streams.

🔹An open work permit pathway will be available for Iranians already in Canada.

🔹The requests of Iranians living in Canada are treated with priority.

🔹The Canadian government waives some processing fees for Iranians who want to extend their stay in Canada.

The Canadian government waives the cost of passports and travel documents for permanent residence and Canadian citizens in Iran who wish to leave.

🔹Canadian government also explores changes to other programs, such as the human rights defenders stream.
