Those that have been following me for a while, or who know me in person, know that I am involved in the equestrian world as an Owner, an Investor, a local Show Sponsor, and most importantly as a Show Mom at what is normally a summer full of shows in Ottawa.

I figured that with the most recent horse project, that I would introduce you to my 3 mares.

Sweet Revenge aka Caida. Caida (means Leader in Arabic) is a 20 year old Arabian who came to us in 2020. She has a long history in the local horse world having been bred just north of Belleville and traveled showing around the area with her previous owner. Caida is stubborn and independent and so so loving to her chosen people. I say that she is me as a horse. Small with a lot of attitude, and a soft heart. Caida is living her best life in a field in semi-retirement on a round bale.

Pixelated aka Pixie is a 10 year old Dutch warmblood who was purchased as an investment 4 years ago at the same time that I made the jump from RE/MAX to my own Royal Heritage Realty office, the 1st of 2 now in Brighton. We both had a big restart year of new firsts and we both have spent the last years upping our A Game and taking names lol. This big beautiful girl has such a huge presence and spirit and unfortunately, she sustained an injury in Sept 2025 that has all but taken her out of competition. Seeing her have this major setback is difficult for me to reckon with as she has always been as fit as a fiddle, but it has taught me that not everything can go our way, despite doing all the right this, and that is ok. This last year has taught me patience and that things just "are" and to let go of expectations.

Fox Field Magot aka Marge is a newly 4 year old Canadian Sport Horse purchased as an unbroken "baby" 3 year old, as a short-term investment - essentially a flip-type situation to equate it to house selling/buying. She has been carefully brought along and was broke and backed in the spring and has been living a life full of first-time experiences. First time on a trailer, first time with a human on her, first time jumping, etc. We are currently at her first A-Circuit show up in Ottawa as I type. She is smart...too smart for her own good. She is a 1000Lb toddler and the world is opening up for her and I get to be witness her growing in to this awesomely huge and bright and inquisitive beauty with such a massive amount of potential. I feel as if this girl is destined to stay with us and join our herd,, so we shall see where we go from here. Consider her a Flip Fail for now lol.

Have horses and thinking of moving to the Northumberland, Hastings, or Prince Edward County area and looking for an equstrian or farm property? Chances are I have scoped it out already and imagined moving there myself, priced out the needed fencing, barn, and land upgrades!

Have a herd yourself? Feel free to post below! I would love to see them.

This week Anne Butwell and long time Brighton garage sale volunteers Susan and Christine came buy the Hospice with a special delivery! They came to present the funds raised from all their exceptional hard work collecting, organizing and selling donated items, all in support of The Bridge Hospice.

They raised an amazing $2,281.30 in sales but the generosity didn't stop there. Our community stepped up further to round the total to $3,000 and then more just kept coming in the round up battle where the final total landed on $3500.

We can not thank Anne, Susan, Christine (pictured L-R) and all the volunteers that come our in support of The Bridge Hospice enough. Every dollar received makes it possible to continue providing care to our residents and family.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
