The Newcomer Legal Clinic, based in Thunder Bay at Lakehead University, is recruiting a supervising lawyer!

We have a dedicated team that includes our director, an outreach coordinator, and an intake worker, with flexible schedules and occasional hearings. The work focuses on evidence gathering, written advocacy, and community support.

You’ll also work closely with students at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, mentoring them through practical assignments in immigration and refugee law.

The most rewarding part is helping people secure stability in their immigration status—whether reuniting families, transitioning from temporary to permanent status, or making Northern Ontario their home. With strong community support, this is energizing and meaningful work.
