At Levin Consulting Group we always try to stay positive and help our clients as much as we can.

While the current global pandemic exposes us all to unique challenges, disrupting the very core of our society in terms of human interactions, there is an opportunity to support each other through this. Like singing on balconies in Italy, providing online support in communities on Social Media, and working from home. Most of our clients share this sentiment and are using travel restrictions to boost their R&D activities.

As always, we are here to help on the IP side of things. To assist with that, we will subsidize 50% of the costs of drafting and defer costs of filing patents for inventions related to the COVID-19 virus. We are always looking for more. More work, better services, new offerings are among the things we are constantly striving for.
Recently, we were occupied with innovation harvesting - how to do it? who should get involved? why does it matter, and if it does - should harvesting be a structured process or innovation is a domain of creativity sparks that could not be triggered on a periodic basis?
We came up with the below bullet points. Now, we'd love to pick your brains up -
What would you add to the list? What have we missed? How can it be improved?

Innovation Harvesting:

• Directly related to the organization’s core strength.
o Is core strength defined?
o Endurable mission/vision exists?
• Not a one-off exercise
o Structured Process

• Organization-wide adoption – Imperative!

So, Schulich IdeaJam last night. Great cohort of entrepreneurs, ideas, comments and overall brainstorming all tightly packed in NEXT Canada boardroom - is there a better way to spend a night? One insight I have from yesterday is tunnel vision. Often people will fall so in love with a single aspect of their start-up - the one that is closest to their hart, the one that falls under their specific expertise, the one that they are most passionate about - that they will overlook the rest. Being an entrepreneur means being a jack of all trades, not only the ones one is comfortable with.
