4️⃣ DAYS TO GO!

The next stop on my countdown to the White Rock Craft Beer Festival brought me to Way Back Brew Co. 🤙🌴

Like so many microbreweries, this hidden gem is tucked away in an industrial area just south of Highway 10 and off of 152 in Surrey. Walking in, the first thing you notice is the vibe! Way Back has leaned into a retro diner/ California-surfer feel, giving you a unique SoCal experience north of the border! 🏄‍♀️

You’ll also find a solid nod to old-school sports legends inside the tap room which is fun to look through 🏒 On top of that, there’s a large, sun-soaked patio that made a great spot for us to enjoy the nice sunny afternoon!☀️🍺

⏳ 5 DAYS TO GO!

The countdown is officially on, and my tour leading up to the White Rock Craft Beer Festival continues! For my next stop, I visited Fraser Valley Cider 🍎

Did you know they grow 40 varieties of heritage apples right on their 12.5-acre property? 🌳🍎 Those apples contribute to more than 25 flavours of award winning ciders produced throughout the year!

Fraser Valley Cider also has a taproom with a great food menu, and a full calendar of events, including a Summer Concert Series! 🎶

🏔️ When we visited, we sat outside and took in the views of Mt. Baker and the surrounding orchards. 🙌 It was the perfect spot to spend some time relaxing in the sun!🌻

I’ve loved seeing how different each stop has been so far, from working farms and historic barns to orchards and everything in between. It’s been a pretty fun way to explore more of the Fraser Valley!

🏡 The Fraser Valley market continued to shift in buyers’ favour in August, with sales slowing and prices easing. While sales edged up slightly year over year (just the second annual increase since the beginning of 2025), overall demand remains subdued. With inventory still well above seasonal norms, buyers have more choice, more time, and more negotiating power.

✨ Key Highlights:

🔹 Sales Activity - 941 homes sold in August (down 14% from July but up 1% year-over-year).

🔹 Inventory - 9,787 active listings (down 3% from July and down 6.3% year-over-year, but still 33% above the 10- year seasonal average)

🔹 Price Trends:
* Detached: $1,319,600 (↓ 1.2% MoM | ↓ 8.4% YoY)
* Townhomes: $750,600 (↓ 0.9% MoM | ↓ 7.1% YoY)
* Condos: $466,100 (↓ 0.7% MoM | ↓ 8.9% YoY)

🔹 Days on Market:
* Detached: 45 days
* Townhomes: 37 days
* Condos: 45 days

🔹Sales-to-Active Listings Ratio: Currently at 10% → Buyer’s Market (balanced market = 12% – 20%)

🔍 What This Means For You:

For Buyers: Buyers continue to have the upper hand, with more choice, softer prices, and little pressure to act quickly. This is creating opportunities for those who are financially prepared, particularly first-time buyers, downsizers, and move-up buyers.

For Sellers: Competition is increasing, with buyers taking their time and some sellers becoming more willing to negotiate. Realistic pricing and a strong strategy are more important than ever as prices continue to ease.

🍇 NEXT STOP: GATE 22 WINERY

Continuing my stops leading up to the White Rock Craft Beer Festival, I made my way to Gate 22 Winery in South Surrey!🍷

Their portfolio brings together premium fruit from some pretty incredible vineyards in Napa Valley, along with their collection of award-winning BC VQA wines made with fruit grown in the Okanagan. 🏆

They also offer a behind-the-scenes look at the winemaking process, with their cellar and fermentation room right inside the winery. 🍇

Another great local spot to add to the list as we get closer to festival day. I’ll be sharing a few more stops along the way, so keep following along! 🙌

🍯 The countdown to the White Rock Craft Beer Festival continues, and my next stop was at Humblebee Meadery!

If you’re wondering what exactly a meadery is, you’re not alone. 😉 Mead is made from fermented honey, and Humblebee has put a very modern spin on this very old drink.

A couple of things I thought were pretty cool:

🍯 They source their honey from a Canadian apiary

🌿 Their flavours go way beyond what you might expect. Think saffron & orange, green tea & lime leaf, lingonberry & elderberry, and hibiscus & lavender. I can confirm, all very tasty!

They’ve also been at this since 2015, when owners Jeff and Pierre started turning their love of craft beer, cider and mead into a local business.

And yes… Humblebee will be at the White Rock Craft Beer Festival! 🍻🐝
