We are celebrating 2 years with the brilliant Scarlett Molinar on our team.

Scarlett shows up to work with many talents and skills. She is part of our intake team, providing a calm and kind first point of contact for people calling our firm. If one of your workers gets injured on the job, do you know what your legal obligations are?

In BC, 2024 changes to the Workers Compensation Act introduced strict return-to-work duties for employers, and they apply sooner than most people expect.

Richard Savage covers what the duty to maintain employment requires, what the duty to cooperate looks like in practice, and where employers commonly run into problems.

Dinethra Perera joined our firm 4 years ago, and it is hard to remember how we ever operated without her!
Dinethra does it all – from client intake, to document management, to litigation support, and she is the reason our labour group’s practice runs smoothly. Dinethra’s calm approach infuses our office and meetings.

Dinethra manages to balance work with post-secondary studies and athletics, and she is the top draft pick for doubles partner at our firm’s pickleball events.

Thank you for a great 4 years Dinethra!

We are celebrating 7 years with Jim Wu on our team at Forte Workplace Law. Jim is a shareholder and the leader of our Litigation Practice Group.

Jim is a seasoned litigator and his love for litigation is contagious around our office. Jim has an impressive litigation record and at a recent Employment Law Conference, one of the speakers summarized a series of recent court decisions by saying, if Jim Wu serves you summary trial materials, you should seriously consider settling.

Jim’s love of karaoke is also contagious, and he finds a way to incorporate karaoke into almost all of our firm events.

Thank you for an incredible 7 years Jim!

Christie Gilmour has been a key part of the fabric of the firm since she joined us 9 years ago.

Christie is our firm’s Managing Lawyer and is also a shareholder and leader of our Employment Practice Group.

If you run a dental practice, you have probably met Christie as she is a regular at the Pacific Dental Conference. Christie advises many law firms, dental clinic owners and other healthcare professionals, including counsellors, about employment law matters.

Christie is a support lawyer to many on our team, and when we have professional standards questions, Christie is the go-to.

Outside of work, Christie loves working with her hands, whether that is building her own RV trailer from scratch (yes, she did), playing and coaching hockey, or doing crafts and sports with her kids.

It has been an amazing 9 years Christie!
