For a showing, the bathroom should feel clean, simple, and hotel-like. The goal is to remove anything that reminds buyers it’s a busy family bathroom and leave them seeing a well-cared-for home.

For a quick last-minute reset before a showing:

• Empty the garbage
• Wipe the sink
• Hang fresh towels
• Close the toilet lid
• Put away personal items
• Turn on the lights
• Check the mirror and faucet for fingerprints
• Make sure the bathroom smells clean
