The number of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points required by candidates for immigration to Canada through the Express Entry selection system to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence remained at 482 in the latest draw from the pool, which took place on July 13. A total of 747 candidates were invited to apply.

The previous draw, which took place on June 29, also required candidates to have 482 CRS points in order to receive an ITA. Before that, a draw that tool place on June 15 had a CRS threshold of 488. While the number of candidates being invited to apply in each draw over the past number of months is holding steady at around 740-800 per draw, stakeholders may note that the CRS requirement has not increased over the past few draws — indeed, it has decreased since a month ago.

Candidates who have been issued an ITA are now in a position to submit an application for Canadian permanent residence. Accompanying family members, including spouses or common-law partners, as well as dependent children, may also come to Canada along with the principal applicant.

Express Entry

Express Entry is Canada's immigration management system for the federal economic immigration programs, namely: Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, and the Canadian Experience Class. The system was first launched on January 1, 2015.

Eligible candidates may submit a profile into the Express Entry pool, where they are ranked according to the CRS. The government of Canada selects the top-ranked candidates on a priority basis when it performs one of its frequent draws from the pool. Candidates who are issued an ITA for permanent residence then have 60 days to submit a complete e-application, from which point the government of Canada aims to process the application within six months.

NEW* Program Changes Effective July 2, 2015

BC PNP has introduced an online application process and electronic payment system. All new Skills Immigration applications and Entrepreneur Immigration registrations must be submitted via BC PNP Online.
Program Guides are now available with complete details on the application process and requirements for all BC PNP streams and categories.
SKILLS IMMIGRATION:

Health Care Professionals, Northeast Pilot Project and all Express Entry BC applications may now be submitted through BC PNP Online.
For all other Skills Immigration categories, the BC PNP will only accept up to 200 new applications in 2015. These applications are restricted as follows:
New applications within Metro Vancouver are restricted to employment offers above the B.C. median wage of $22.00 per hour.
For regions outside of Metro Vancouver, new applications will be accepted for all Skills Immigration categories, including Entry Level and Semi-Skilled occupations.
Once the 200 limit has been reached, new intake will be restricted to Express Entry BC, Health Care Professionals and Northeast Pilot Project applications.
The BC PNP continues to focus on processing applications from the inventory. Processing times for new applications will be based on operational capacity.
All applications submitted on or before March 31, 2015 will be assessed according the program criteria in place at the time of submission – BC PNP will not retroactively apply new criteria.
For more information on changes to program requirements or applications to the Skills Immigration stream, see our Program Requirements page.
ENTREPRENEUR IMMIGRATION (FORMERLY BUSINESS IMMIGRATION):

BC PNP has streamlined two categories - Business Skills and Regional Business - into one Entrepreneur Immigration stream to improve efficiency and outcomes.
A mandatory online Entrepreneur Registration system is now available to simplify the intake process and ensure timely processing for high-impact applications.
For more information on changes to program requirements, the new online registration process, or applications to the Entrepreneur Immigration stream, see our Program Requirements page.

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is a provincial immigration program made possible through an agreement with the Government of Canada. As an economic program, the NBPNP selects, and nominates, qualified business people and skilled workers from around the world who will live in New Brunswick and contribute to the local economy.

The Express Entry New Brunswick Labour Market Stream is new to the NBPNP. Potential applicants are asked to complete an expression of interest and submit it to the NBPNP. Details are provided on the NBPNP Express Entry page. You must include your language test scores, Educational Credential Assessment result, and work experience in your expression of interest. The highest ranked candidates may be invited to apply to NBPNP Express Entry Labour Market Stream. After receiving provincial nominations, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will then invite top ranking candidates to apply for permanent residence. The NBPNP Express Entry is no longer accepting Expression of Interest (EOI) forms for the month of June 2015. Please visit our website for regular updates.

Immigration Program Officers review applications based on eligibility requirements and selection factors. You must meet eligibility requirements. You should also be aware that meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee nomination. Priority will be given to applicants who have the greatest potential to become economically established in New Brunswick. To determine if you meet the requirements of the Program, carefully review the information in the relevant Program Guide below before submitting your application:

Manitoba permanently reopens the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream and introduces process improvements

Posted on April 23, 2015 by Manitoba Immigration
On April 30, 2015, the MPNP Skilled Worker Overseas Stream reopens permanently for new applicants. In addition, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program introduces improvements to the way it manages applications, aimed at ensuring future intake pauses are not necessary and making the program both faster and more responsive for all applicants.

Our new Expression of Interest approach to application management is designed to provide faster processing for those with the skills needed in Manitoba’s labour market. Starting today, all skilled workers interested in applying to the MPNP will be able to create an Expression of Interest as their first step to immigrating to our province. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of one of the MPNP’s existing program streams, Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba, will be accepted into a pool of prospective applicants, where they will be ranked according to various factors, including their language proficiency, education, work experience, and their connection to Manitoba and other parts of the country. The highest ranking skilled workers will be invited to submit a full application to the MPNP during regular draws from the pool.

The Expression of Interest system will allow Manitoba to quickly identify those candidates with the highest likelihood to succeed as economic immigrants and to process applications of those who best meet Manitoba’s changing labour market needs faster.
